Project Overview
A German importer and manufacturer of renewable-energy and smart-control solutions partnered with Holtop to ventilate three elementary schools ahead of the back-to-school season. The goal: circulate fresh air, cool classrooms in summer, and deliver clean air at comfortable temperature and humidity for children — sustainably and economically.
The HVAC Solution
Holtop consulted on multiple options — air-to-air heat recovery, switching from constant- to variable-speed supply fans, and enlarging airflow while reducing AHU count — to find the most cost-effective, easy-to-install and maintain solution. The confirmed design supplies 1,200 m³/h, drawing 30% (360 m³/h) fresh outdoor air per cycle while recirculating 70% (840 m³/h) to reduce energy use. In summer the AHU precools 28°C outdoor air to 14°C via chilled water, delivering 16–18°C air to classrooms.
Quiet, Smart and Sustainable
Holtop added a duct silencer with soundproofing so the AHU runs almost inaudibly, plus air-valve actuators on supply and return outlets for programmable smart control at different times and conditions. The result is a comfortable, clean and sustainable classroom environment — exactly what schools and their children deserve.
